What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I used a lot of technology to make my music magazine, including cameras, Photoshop, In Design and Word.

The thing I learnt most about was the camera, because it’s easy to take photos you like, but when you have to make it into a cover it’s harder and you need to think about the angle and distance as well. I found it helpful and think I would be more used to it next time.

I like how on In Design it’s almost magnetic, so the elements of the page go in the right place automatically. I used guides more often as a glossy music magazine needs to look really professional so it's taken seriously. I was also more aware of the conventions of magazines like pull quotes, different captions and white space so I had to think where they were going to go without making the layout look untidy.

I tried out a few features on Photoshop like the curves but I used the ones I understand the most to my advantage.

I have displayed my music magazine using my media blog. I think it has benefits to a written essay because I can show links and post photographs. Media is a modern subject so it makes sense to use digital technology, which also relates to printed publications and their threat from the internet, which is another good way of making advertising revenue, which my music magazine would do.
